Affiliate links
Some outbound links — to booking platforms, tour marketplaces, trail apps, and gear retailers — are affiliate links. If you book or buy after clicking one, we may earn a commission. You never pay more; the commission comes out of the partner's side. Affiliate links are marked with rel="sponsored" in the page code, per FTC and search-engine guidelines.
Verified and featured partners
Local businesses — guides, tour operators, places to stay, transport providers — can be verified(we've confirmed who they are and that they operate as described) and can pay for featured placement (higher position in relevant listings). Featured placement is always labeled. Verification is never for sale, and paying for placement does not change what we write about a business.
What money never buys
- Inclusion in the guide — listings exist because they're useful to travelers.
- Trail ratings, difficulty grades, or safety information.
- Our answer when you ask the concierge what we'd actually do.
Editorial independence
Recommendations are based on traveler usefulness: location, quality, logistics, and fit. Where we have a commercial relationship, we say so on the page. If a partner relationship ever conflicts with honest advice, the advice wins.
